FAQS

FAQS

  • When Are You Available?

At the moment, I’m only available to take on short-term, off-site freelance work. I’ve primarily taken on gigs that top off at 10-15 hours a week and they’ve been working out just fine.  To be fair to you, if you need someone for a more extensive project, I’m going to decline but I’d be happy to make some recommendations.

  • How Can I Contact You?

I have all my information on my contact page, and you can also phone me at 404.654.3525 or email me at amaliakallen [at] gmail.com for inquiries about freelance work.

  • What Are Your Specialties?

I can work for any client in any industry given an appropriate amount of time to research your brand, your industry, and your assets, but my primary experience is within healthcare, technology, education, nonprofit, and retail communications.

If you’re looking for a content strategist to develop a ground-up plan for your company’s communications, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re hoping to revamp or tighten up some existing corporate communications, I’m your gal. I enjoy working with companies to develop a tone and voice to use throughout internal and external communications, and I can also audit existing content to streamline print and digital assets.

  • How Much Do You Charge?

I’ve worked with some creative staffing agencies, and I’m up to date with what many agencies are currently paying. I can assure you that my rate is fair yet competitive based on the average rates for writers and strategists with comparable experience. I typically charge by the hour, but I am certainly open to a flat rate (typically reserved for larger projects.) I’m aware that I didn’t really answer your question, but call me and I’ll be happy to chat!

  • What’s Your Experience?

I have an undergraduate degree in English with a concentration in informational writing and business communication, and a graduate degree in English with a focus in rhetoric and composition, with a sub-concentration in digital delivery and technical writing.

I’ve worked with academic, non-profit, B2B, B2C, retail, healthcare, and technology clients to create accurate, persuasive content for print and digital delivery. I have experience working as an off-site freelance writer for agencies as well as being an on-site content professional within a creative department.

I have experience working both as a content lead (hiring and managing vendors and other writers) as well as experience working in a fluid team of part-time writers and creatives led by project mangers and freelance content strategists.
